Shaheed Smarak Govt. Degree College of Excellence is one of the reputed and oldest institutions imparting higher education at remote and rural area of Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh. The College was established by Contemporary Governer U.P Moti Lal Bora in 1995 elevating to a Degree status affiliated with Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University Jaunpur. The College thus has a long legacy of imparting education in Purvanchal Region. Being one of the Oldest Institutions in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh the College has all the credit of being recognized as a 'Heritage College' of the region.

The College is a recognized research centre in 3 disciplines. The College is a multi faculty co-education institution with 2358 student's enrolment in the faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce . Since its inception this College has set the milestone of success not only in educational but also in administrative fields.
